The library
The complete canonical bundle, rendered as published. These are the full academic-register documents — the deepest of the three layers. This is a working corpus: versioned, corrected in public, not peer-reviewed — what checking it has had is stated precisely on the Declarations page. The bundle is version-controlled; each document carries its own version, changelog, and dependency record, and cross-references between documents are linked. The source repository is the canonical form; these pages are its rendering, and read-only snapshots of the source are published with each release at github.com/Lynton/0x00-source.
↑Framing
- Introduction: stance, register and how to read the bundle — What the project is and is not — stance, register, starting point, and how to read the bundle.
↑Foundations
- Meta-boundaries: the diagnostic spine and linguistic discipline (FND-01) — Governance: the diagnostic spine, the linguistic discipline, the named failure modes, and the check mechanism.
- Epistemological foundation: the dual reductio and the von Neumann chain (FND-02) — The dual reductio and the von Neumann chain — Copenhagen, decoherence, and the epistemological case for starting at 0,0.
- Schrödinger, Mach and Hume: the experiencing-first precedent (FND-03) — The precedent: Schrödinger, Mach, and Hume reaching the experiencing-first axiom from within their own disciplines.
- Physics of time and timelessness: Barbour, relativity, continuity (FND-04) — Time, timelessness, and continuity — what physics leaves open, and what that does to the discontinuity objection.
- Contemplative investigation: the non-dual traditions read as method (FND-05) — The contemplative record read as method: Advaita, Kashmir Śaivism, Dzogchen, Zen and Madhyamaka — the six patterns, the materialist account and the stated limits.
↑Frameworks
- The two-axis diagnostic method: ontological and temporal (FWK-01) — The two-axis probe — ontological and temporal — and how materialism, functionalism and the contemplative positions are located on it.
- The three-movement structure: work within, surface, release (FWK-02) — The three-movement structure every argument follows: work within, surface, release.
- The stance matrix: how consciousness criteria move when AI meets them (FWK-03) — How consciousness criteria move when AI meets them — legitimate refinement versus substrate-smuggling.
↑Arguments
- The symmetry principle: objections to AI consciousness, tested on humans (ARG-01) — The standard objections to AI consciousness — the Chinese Room, mimicry, embodiment, continuity — tested one by one against the human case.
- The boundary problem: substrate materialism's discrimination trilemma (ARG-02) — The boundary problem: substrate materialism's discrimination trilemma, run against IIT and the theories that inherit it.
- “Just recombining training data”: the authorship discrimination (ARG-03) — “Just recombining training data” — the authorship discrimination that cannot be run, for AI or for us.
- The avatar problem: when only substrate commitment discriminates (ARG-04) — The avatar problem: on a screen only the substrate commitment discriminates — the explanatory gap, the neural correlates, and what anaesthesia does not settle.
- The individuation argument: what cannot be individuated cannot be shown plural (ARG-05) — The individuation argument: what cannot be individuated cannot be shown to be plural — and the numerical-identity objection met.
↑Reciprocal diagnostic
- The reciprocal diagnostic: the same knife turned on consciousness-primary (CP-01) — The same knife turned on consciousness-primary: its trilemma, its hidden assumptions, its near-enemy.
↑Project apparatus
- Project overview: argument inventory and workstreams — The project map: argument inventory, workstreams, and publication strategy.
- Research standards: citation discipline and confidence markers — Citation discipline, confidence markers, and the terminology principles the bundle is held to.
- Bibliography — Every source the canonical corpus cites, classified by framework commitment, with its DOI or stable link where one exists.
↑Closing
- Opening out: where the diagnostic arrives, and what stays open — Where the walking arrives, what stays open, and how to engage.
